課程概述

Based on the reading of some theories about the issue of modernity and modern literature, we will form a framework in which the major body of Ibsen’s dramas and the plays before and after him will be read and discussed. 

課程目標
 Ibsen is commonly regarded as the father of modern drama, but what actually happens is his being passed into oblivion. In this course, we will reinvestigate the work of Henrik Ibsen in order to reconsider the issues related to the birth of modern drama. By so doing, students are expected to establish the perspective from which the drama after Ibsen can be appreciated and which can shed a light on both our own situation and contemporary life.
